UCU Canons secured a well deserved 82-61 victory against KCCA Panthers in the National Basketball League at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.
Joel Kayiira was impressive with a double double dropping in 23 points and pulling down 17 rebounds to inspire the Canons to a dominant win.
Ibanda Lwabaga joined the charge with 14 points as the Mukono based side started the second round on a positive note.
On the other hand, Emmanuel Odongkara (14 points) and Davis Assiimwe (13 points) led the Panthers’ scoring chart.
Lwabaga’s floating jump shot concluded the first period as the Canons opened an 11-point (24-13) lead.
Jimmy Lihumi’s driving layup extended the Canons’ dominant lead to 17 points (46-29) before the long break.
Despite the Panthers’ fight in third quarter, the Canons held onto the 15-point lead (58-43) before eventually cruising to a 21-point victory.
