Vipers SC skipper Milton Karisa remains grounded amidst the legendary talk at his club, given what he has achieved over the years.
Over the weekend, the forward captained the Venoms to their second domestic double, a feat they achieved in 2023.
Whereas blowing your own trumpet may not necessarily mean self-applause but rather knowing that you have something good and doesn’t deserve sitting under the rug, Karisa remains coy whenever such a question is put to him.
Karisa insists, his job is to serve the club to his best ability and keep winning trophies; the rest can be determined by other people.
“I believe I’m not in position to judge myself for what I have achieved at the club. Definitely, I know the sacrifices I have made for the club like the rest of the players and that is where my focus is, to keep working hard and win as much as I can,” he stated.
Asked whether clinching the double cements his legendary status at the club, the hard working forward still did not giving much away to this regard.
“ The decision is not mine to make but rather those that watch and appreciate what I have done for the club,” he said with a faint smile before adding, “my target is keep doing what I do to my best efforts and continue serving the club.”
Karisa first joined Vipers SC in January 2017 from BUL FC. He moved to MC Oudja in Morocco a year later before returning to Kitende in 2020.
He has helped the team to win five League titles and three Uganda Cups, including winning the domestic double twice as a captain.
