Overview:
Former Vipers and KCCA star Paul Mucureezi won the gong for the best forward player following his nine goals and six assists and was the club’s joint top scorer alongside Cromwell Rwothomio.
Jacob Okao has won NEC’s Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign.
The defender who arrived at NEC from Maroons last summer was a key factor in the team’s season as they finished second on the premier league table and also got a spot to represent Uganda at the next season’s Caf Confederation Cup.

Okao was outstanding through the season at the heart of defence and it explains why NEC conceded just 19 goals, only Vipers let in less (15).
At the club’s end of season dinner at Silver Springs, Bugolobi, Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo was also rewarded for his outstanding show between the posts.
Enock Ssebagala won double awards clinching the midfielder of the season award as well as the Players’ Player of the season gong.
Both Ssebagala and Ssebwalunyo were absent though as they are part of the Uganda Cranes team in Morocco for friendlies against The Gambia and Cameroon.
