Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim ‘Owen’ Kasule made history after scoring a hattrick in the 5-2 victory over Crown Legacy in the MLS Pro Next.
With three goals on the day, Kasule surpassed Brandon Allen for the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with 27 goals through league play.
It was also the first time the former Wakiso Giants midfielder scored a hattrick in the MLS NEXT Pro and thus became the youngest player in club history to score a hattrick at 21 years and 107 days old.
Kasule scored his third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season and leads the team in goals scored this year.
The Ugandan international made his 63rd appearance for the club as well equaling Jordan Scarlett for fourth-most appearances in club history.
Kasule joined New York Red Bulls II in 2023 after two years at Wakiso Giants.
He made his MLS debut on August 30 for the New York Red Bulls coming on for Dru Yearwood in a 1-0 defeat to New England Revolution.
On March 2024, he opened his New York Red Bulls II account in a 5-1 victory over Hudson Valley Hammers in the first round of the US Open Cup.
