Uganda Cranes will hope to finish the June international friendlies with a win when they face Gambia on Monday.

Paul Put’s men terribly lost 3-0 to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Friday which means Monday’s clash is a must win for the Cranes despite being just a friendly match.

Gambia, managed by ex-Cranes coach Johnathan McKinstry won their first test match 2-1 against Equatorial Guinea with a double from Adam Sidibeh who plies his trade with St. Johnstone in Scotland.

Put is expected to make changes with Elio Capradossi and Nafian Alionzi ruled out due to injuries suffered in the defeat to the five-time African champions.

The two friendly matches are being used by Put to prepare the team for the forthcoming CHAN in August to be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September and October and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December.
