Mandela National stadium, Namboole has missed out on hosting the two biggest matches of the forthcoming CHAN 2024 finals with Kasarani and National Stadium, Dar es Salaam chosen.
The National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania will host the opening match on August 2 while Moi International stadium, Kasarani will host the final on August 30 as per the confirmation by CAF.
The choice of the two stadia is perhaps attributed to their seating capacities that overwhelm Namboole with the Dar being a 60,000-seater while Kasarani is a 55,000- seater stadium while Namboole has a capacity of 38,000 seats.
Namboole will host the third play off of the bi-annual competition designated for local based players who ply their trade in their respective nations.
CAF also added Zanzibar’s New Aman stadium to the host venues as well with the body also confirming where each group will be based.
