The Uganda Rugby Cranes squad is starting to take shape as coaches name 4 players in the starting line-up against the Limpopo Blue Bulls.
Julius Opio, Frank Kidega, Pius Ogena and Timothy Kisiga are the four players retained from the previous game as the team runs out for their second trial game on their Southern Africa preparatory tour.
During the week, Nicholas Kato and Adrian Kasito linked up with the rest of the squad in South Africa, and they have been named in today’s matchday squad. A few notable omissions like assistant captain, Conrad Wanyama and winger, Claude Otema, have got some much-needed rest after putting in a solid shift in Windhoek.
The Cranes are going to field a new starting front row in Frank Kakula, Nathan Bwambale and Saul Kivumbi, as Santos Sentenza, Emiemu and Fahad Maido proved that they are a force to be reckoned with against Namibia’s Welwitschias.
The coaches have shown faith in halfback Aaron Ofoyrwoth, who did not complete the previous match, as he has been paired with Liam Walker. Young fly half, Yasin Wasswa will have to take notes from the bench, just like fellow Jinja City dynamite, Shakim Sembusi, who has been completely left out of this squad.
The coaches are expected to keep tweaking this squad as they try to examine every player and see which combinations work where and when.
The cranes face the Pumas next, before flying back to Kampala on 29th June, 2025.
