FUFA Big League 2024-2025:
- Top scorer: Lawrence Kambugu (Ntugasaze) – 15 Goals
Goal scoring business during a football duel is an act that interests spectators, determines the match outcome and generally spices the encounters.
Many a time, the creators of goals (those who make assists) remain the unsung heroes with all the glory heaped onto the scorers.
In whichever fashion, goals are celebrated; via simple tap-ins, headers, bullet shots, long-range shots, set pieces (free-kicks and penalties), rebounds, goal melees, and even own goals; a goal remains a goal.
Lawrence Kambugu out-scored the rest of the players in the 2024-2025 FUFA Big League to take the golden boot.

With 15 goals to his name, Ntugasaze forward Kambugu takes home the golden boot.
The former Rays of Grace football academy graduate netted a hat-trick during the 6-3 slip away to Kaaro Karungi on the final day of the season at Kyamate, Ntungamo district.
Ntugasaze completed the season in the 9th position with 36 points collected from 28 games.

On the final day, Calvary, Gaddafi and Buhimba United Saints Football Clubs were confirmed as the three promoted sides to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for the season 2025-2026.
Calvary Football Club lifted the trophy following a 1-0 victory over Paidha Black Angels during the West Nile derby played at the Midigo primary school in a rain-disrupted duel in Yumbe.
The victory meant Calvary finished with 52 points, two better than Gaddafi and Buhimba United Saints.
In Mbale city, Gaddafi defeated Kataka 3-0 on a wet surface after a heavy downpour moments before kick-off.
Congolese import Jonathan Mbula, captain Thomas Kakaire and Frank Kalanda were on target for Gaddafi who finished the season with 50 points.
At the Barthlem playground in Kiwenda, Kiyinda Boys shared the spoils in a goalless duel with Buhimba United Saints.
That said, Buhimba United Saints completed the season with 50 points.
In Kabale, Kigezi Home Boyz edged MYDA 1-0 courtesy of Joseph Sseremba’s goal.

In Lira, Blacks Power humbled Busoga United 2-0 with Innocent Maduka scoring a brace, to complete the season with 49 points, three shy of the league winners.
Busoga United also got relegated to the Eastern regional league.
Booma, Busoga United, MYDA and Arua Hill all got relegated.
A brand new trophy will be officially handed over to Calvary on Sunday, 22nd June 2025.
