The development comes after FIFA announced that both URA and ASEC Mimosa submitted stand-out strategic plans under the Club Management and Professionalization Programme.
FIFA Senior Professional Football Manager Picalló Aguilar Marcos made the announcement.
This programme intends to elevate club management standards world-wide.
Allan Munaaba, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club expresses gratitude for this award.

“As Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club, we are humbled in a special way for the FIFA Club Management and Professionalization Programme award” Munaaba, a former player at the URA reveals.
“It remains work in progress and we plan to implement our strategic goals with further guidance and global exposure” he adds.

FIFA shall extend invitations to both clubs to attend the upcoming Club Management Network Session in New York city, United States of America (USA).
For starters, URA Football Club participated in the FIFA Programme held earlier this year at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala, in partnership with Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).
In this programme, Uganda Premier League clubs were equipped with modern management tools and encourage them to submit growth oriented strategic plans.

URA Football Club submitted the most outstanding plan with a holistic approach centered on a balanced scoreboard model based on four pillars of financial sustainability, stakeholder engagement, internal efficiency and talent development.
The strategy lays out a long term vision to nurture players from grassroots up to post-retirement life.
URA intends to empower players with skills that extend beyond the pitch, supporting career development and contributing to national tax revenue.

Christened as “The Tax collectors“, the club will now be able to implement its strategic goals with further guidance and global exposure.
URA Football Club was started in 1997, following a merger with Lyantonde football club.
The club has won the Uganda Premier League four times (2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009 and 2010-2011).
They have 3 Uganda Cup titles (2005, 2011-2012 and 2013-2014). They have represented the country in the region (Kagame Interclub Cup) and on the continent in the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League.

We thank the Government of Uganda and the Commissioner General, our Patron, for supporting our club activities.
Special thanks go to the FUFA President for championing professionalization across the league.
This award is dedicated to everyone who has contributed to our journey, players, coaches, staff, and our loyal fans.
