SC Villa has finally confirmed reports that it unveiled Serbian coach Nemanja Milincic before both signed a contract.
Milincic was unveiled on Friday but before he could even start his duties, reports of his departure emerged over contractual disparities between what they had agreed in principle and what was brought on table.
“Now that the dust has settled, Sports Club Villa (“The Club”) informs its fans that its advanced contractual negotiations with Mr. Milincic Nemanja have regrettably been discontinued with immediate effect,” a statement signed by club president Omar Mandela started on June 25, 2025.
“While an agreement in principle had been reached and a working relationship had commenced, a formal contract had not yet been finalized.
“Unanticipated circumstances that touch the core values of the Club emerged and following careful consideration by both the Club and the prospective Coach, both parties mutually agreed in their best interests not to proceed with a formal coaching engagement at this time.”
With Morley Byekwaso sacked last week, the club will embark on a search for a new coach as confirmed by Mandela who took full responsibility of the decision to let Nemanja go.

“The search for a Head Coach for the next season continues and the Club fans shall be updated in due course.
“Please take note that the Club President takes full responsibility for the decision not to continue with contract negotiations with Nemanja.”
The untold story behind the circus
According to reliable sources, Nemanja arrived in Uganda a few weeks ago in anticipation of taking over the Villa job.
As talks were still on, the club requested to take pictures to be used when the unveiling time comes as Mandela was due to fly out of the country.

With Mandela away and his right-hand man, William Nkemba, the club CEO also not in the country, Nemanja was left isolated as he had no one to discuss further on matters SC Villa with authority.
As he waited for the arrival of Nkemba, who reportedly returned from the US on Monday, Nemanja was shocked to see the club unveil him.
It is understood that one Villa official sent the photos to Fufa Media Team as confirmed on X (former Twitter) and the FA on its official platform broke the story before even the club did.
Not to be left out, Villa had to announce Nemanja and without consent and a signed contract, he sensed foul play and immediately jetted out.

LOL, Nemanja didn’t sense foul play. He sensed incompetence, poor working conditions, e.t.c.
Winning on the pitch starts at the top.
