UCU Lady Canons secured a hard-fought 60-53 victory against Magic Stomers in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court at Wandegeya.
Hajjara Najjuko’s floating jump shot concluded the first period as the Lady Canons trailed by four points (20-16).
Najjuko’s deep shot narrowed the second quarter’s deficit to one-point (30-29) as the two sides went to a long break.
Coming from the halftime break, Magic Stomers were kicked out of the driving seat as the Lady Canons took a two-point (42-40) lead at the end of the third period.
At the end of the game, the Lady Canons ran away with a seven-point victory.
Najjuko (15 points) and Shillah Lamunu (11 points) were the only Lady Canons to score in double digits.
On the other hand, Gimbo Babra (14 points) and Daphine Adong (10 points) were the only Magic Stomers to reach double digits.
