Kiteezi Old Stars against Kiwanga Legends in Oldies league

Overview:

The Oldies League serves the networking purpose, helping the retired players shed off a sweat to keep fit and revitalize the competitive spirit from the old memories.

The official draw for the 2025 Oldies League was held at the Kati-Kati Restaurant along Lugogo By-pass on Tuesday, 24th June 2025.

A total of 34 teams were drawn in four groups (A, B, C and D).

Groups A and D have eight teams apiece with B and C having 9 teams each.

Mutundwe Diplomats celebrate their success from the 10th edition

Seeded teams:

The reigning champions Mutundwe Diplomats were seeded in group A.

Runners up NSASPA Nsangi were group B top seeds.

Old Stars Kiteezi and Kiwanga Legends were seeded in group C and D respectively.

Full groups:

Group A had Mutundwe Diplomats, Oldies Kiti, Wankulukuku Friends Club, Mzee Wawanja, Nantabulirwa Seniors, Ex-players FC Seeta, Landking Sports Club and Kanyanya Soccer Legends.

In Group B include NSASPA Nsangi, Gayaza Corporates, Banzege, Luzira Ex-players, Kanyanya Ex-players, Mitti Oldies, Mess Old Timers, Kisugu Ex-players and Nyenje Legends.

 Old Stars Kiteezi, Bajjo Legends, Kawempe Kataka Ex-players, Busoga Legends Soccer Club, Kazo Ex FC, Kibuli Oldies, KCCA Corporate Oldies, Buloba Icons Club and Old Doves FC Kasangati are in group C.

Group D is composed of Kiwanga Legends, Kabowa Oldies Select, Mutungo Ex-Internationals, Jjokolera Old Timers, Maroons Oldies Sports Club, Bbira United Legends, KAYOFA Oldies and Bugolobi Ex Fc.

For starters, the Oldies League was started in 2014 with 6 teams and has since sprout wings to as many as 34 teams.

Kisugu Ex football team won the pioneer edition, ahead of Luzira Ex-players.

The League has a well-organized governance and management structure of highly competent and experienced persons running the various activities because of the passion that they have.

Vastly experienced football administrator Bernard Bainamani is the league chairperson.

Patrick Obita is the league manager and Edson Lutwama, the PRO, among other officials.

Prizes vary from trophies, plaques, medals to cash.

Match day one of the 11th edition will kick off on 6th July 2025.
