Victoria Crocs registered a well-deserved 74-66 victory against JT Jaguars in the National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Victoria Crocs’ sweet victory came after overtime after sharing spoils 63-63 at the end of the fourth quarter.
Chuma Fadhili’s long shot beyond the arc gave JT Jaguars a two-point (17-15) lead at the end of the opening period.
Roland Muwanguzi’s driving layup gave the Victoria Crocs a nine-point (33-24) lead going into a long break.
Ivan Otyek was perfect on the charity line as JT Jaguars levelled matters (51-51) at the end of an exciting third quarter.
David Mayom converted both free throws to level the game at 63 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.
Victoria Crocs limited the Jaguars to only three points in overtime as they ran away with an eight-point victory.
Chuol Nyuot (16 points and 14 rebounds) and Mayom (15 points and 13 rebounds) led the Cros’ scoring chart with double-doubles.
On the other hand, Peter Sifuma posted a double-double, dropping 19 points and pulling down 26 rebounds.
The victory sends Victoria Crocs to the fifth position with 26 points, winning nine and losing eight in the 17 games played.
