Silverbacks forward Arthur Kaluma is set to have a run with the Los Angeles Lakers at the Summer League.
Kaluma is reported to have agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Lakers, which will allow him to play for a roster spot during the Summer League.
The Uganda international played for the University of Texas in his final year of college last season. He averaged 12.3 points and 7.5rebounds with the Longhorns.
The 6’7 forward played two seasons at Creighton, where he played in the Elite 8 in 2023, one at Kansas State, and one at Texas. He played a total of 134 games, starting 131 during his college career.
What is an Exhibit 10 Contract?
The Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary agreement that is not guaranteed but can include an optional bonus of up to $75,000 that will be rewarded if a player, after he’s waived, spends at least 60 days with a team’s G League affiliate.
Therefore, the Exhibit 10 contract is a tool to bring in players to compete during the Summer League for a roster spot on an NBA team or its G League affiliate.
An Exhibit 10 contract can then be converted into a two-way contract, which now makes the bonus money guaranteed.
If a player on an Exhibit 10 contract is kept on the 15-man roster past the start of the regular season, his contract becomes a standard minimum deal.
