Tanzania National Football Team Coach Hemed Suleiman has on Friday named a provisional squad of 27 players for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
Suileman released the squad during a press briefing at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Headquarters in Dar es Salaam.
The squad is largely composed of players from the two traditional giants, Simba and Young Africans.
Notable figures include veteran goalkeeper Aishi Manula, Shomari Kapombe, Mohammed Hussein, Abdoulrazack Mohamed, Yusuph Kagoma and Denis Kibu, all from Simba.
Young Africans’ contingent comprises Ibraham Hamad, Yahya Mudathir and Clement Mzize.
The coach has also included players from the National U20 team (Ngorongoro) namely; Vedastus Masinde, Ahmed Pipino, Jammy Simba, Sheikhan Khamis and Mishano Michael.
It should be noted that Tanzania will co-host the tournament alongside neighbours Uganda and Kenya. The Taifa Stars are placed in Group B alongside Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic.
The Championship will take place between 2nd and 8th August 2025.
