Wakiso Giants Football Club president Musa Atagenda has lauded John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda, co-coach at Vipers SC, as one of the top two football coaches in Uganda.
Atagenda’s high praise comes after Luyinda recently guided Vipers to a domestic double, securing both the Uganda Premier League title and the Uganda Cup.
Speaking on Uganda Fans TV, Atagenda expressed his profound admiration for Luyinda’s coaching prowess. “Not to undermine any coach. Currently, Ayala is one of the two best coaches. He is such an intelligent man,” Atagenda emotionally stated
Atagenda further highlighted Luyinda’s exceptional analytical skills before emphasizing his unique ability to dissect an opponent’s game.

“One of the unique features with Ayala is that he can easily analyze and explain where his opponents’ strengths and weaknesses lie,” he explained.
According to Atagenda, this skill is invaluable, giving his coaching staff and players a significant advantage by keeping them “a step ahead of their opponents.”
Recalling their time together, Atagenda revealed, “He would always tell me what was going to happen in our (Wakiso Giants) games. Right from the opponents’ style of play to their key players and loopholes.
“Their professional relationship continues to this day, with Atagenda noting, “To date, we still communicate, and I always give him a listening ear because he has advised me on several things that have helped me move forward.”
Regarding Luyinda’s player management, Atagenda shared, “Surprisingly, he looks simple but is very tough on the training ground. He is hands-on and maintains a good relationship with all players.”
This blend of strictness and strong player relationships appears to be another key factor in Luyinda’s success.
