Uganda Cranes playmaker Travis Mutyaba has joined Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in a move aimed at redemption.
This follows his departure from fourth-tier side Girondins Bordeaux, where he hardly marked a starting position in the side.
Having played 18 games, Mutyaba failed to get onto the score sheet or make any assists in his stay in France.
Despite impressing at SC Villa, Mutyaba’s technical ability has not yet been fully shown on the global stage.
Considered one of the most talented players of his generation, this move offers an opportunity to revive his career in the Tunisian league.
The move comes at a perfect time as Uganda Cranes prepare for the AFCON that will be played later this year in December.
He has previously played at Vipers JT, SC Villa and Egyptian side Zamalek SC. He becomes the second Ugandan player for CS Sfaxien after Yunus Sentamu.
CS Sfaxien has won the Tunisian League eight times and is a three-time champion of the CAF Confederation Cup. The team finished seventh and aims to improve ahead of the upcoming campaign.
