Overview:

The women in climate walk is organized by the Ministry of water and environment (climate change department).

  • Start: Kitubulu Forest Reserve
  • Finishing point: Lake Victoria primary school, Entebbe
  • Total Distance: 10 Kilometers

The 2025 Women in climate change 10 kilometer walk will take place on Saturday, 12th July in Entebbe Municipality, Division A.

This walk is organized by the Ministry of water and environment (climate change department).

 The walk will start at the Kitubulu forest reserve and will continue via the Anderita beach front along the shores of Lake Victoria.

It will continue past the Victoria Mall through the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Imperial Golf View Hotel, Entebbe Golf Course, Lake Victoria Hotel and end at the Lake Victoria School, Entebbe.

At the end point, there will be a couple of speeches from the different leaders to stress the essence of this walk.

The participants will also engaged in various body stretching and relaxing drills and a session of networking to know each other well.

This walk aims to raise awareness and inspire action on grassroots climate resilience and gender responsive environmental solutions.

The walk will lead to the highly anticipated Women in Climate Change Conference (#WICC) due to be in Kampala on 24th July 2025.

The conference will focus on “Women Leading Climate Action: from local solutions to Global policy and innovation” to spotlight women’s leadership and innovative approaches in addressing climate change.
