Uganda Premier League side KCCA has completed the signing of versatile defender, Herbert Achai in the ongoing transfer window.
Achai returns home after a brief stint with rivals Express, where he spent just one season. During his time at Express, he participated in 22 matches.
The deal has been confirmed via the club’s official website today, Friday, July 11, 2025.
“KCCA has completed the re-signing of experienced defender Herbert Achai,” the statement partly reads.
The defender is a KCCA Soccer Academy graduate who graduated in 2017. He spent seven years at the Lugogo before leaving as a free agent.
After putting ink on the dotted line, Achai expressed his excitement after rejoining his youthful side.
“It feels incredible to be back home. This club holds a special place in my heart. I am happy to have the opportunity to represent KCCA once again,” he said.
Achai is KCCA’s third signing, following the arrivals of Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Muhindo.
