5-aside football (Futsal) is as interesting as a normal football game.
Played on a smaller sized playground, the game requires pace, quick thinking that precipitates quick decision making, lots of ball dribbling and constant shooting to find the ball.
It is now official that Futsal is part of the USSSA games menu at the 2025 version on-going in Tororo district.
There are seven schools taking part in this inaugural historic championship that will be etched in the history books of Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) and the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU).
The futsal field of play is at St Peter’s College Tororo.

Mukono Kings High School humiliated St Francis Busunju 4-1.
Although Collins Talemwa found the back of the net first for St Francis Busunju, Mukono Kings’ response was intent but, ruthless.
Antonio Kato, Daniel Mukisa, Patrick Afeku and Mathius Geno scored for Shafiq Mudholo’s coached side.
“We are humbled that the schools have finally been incorporated into the Futsal system under the USSSA Ball Games 2. This is a great learning curve attained” Kiriggwajjo Anatoli reveals.
In the other game; St Mark’s College lost 0-2 to Kakungulu Memorial School.
Frank Nsereko scored a brace for Kakungulu Memorial school.
The contest between Seroma Christian High School and Kyadondo SS ended in a 3-all draw.
Pius Mwebe scored twice and Stephen Ongera added the other for Seroma Christian High School.
Kyadondo SS’ goals were netted by Joseph Junior Jude (2) and Michael Kizito.
Sunday, 13th July 2025 will have a couple of more matches to be played.
To start is a great development. I am happy to have Futsal as part of the USSSA Ball Games. We shall improve upon the guidelines like the playing surface and other modifications in subsequent editions.

Besides Futsal, the USSSA Ball games 2 also have normal football (U-14 and U-16), Rugby 7’s, Basketball (3X3 and U-16 for 5X5), Athletics, Cross Country, Volleyball, Handball, Chess, Netball, Scrabble, DanceSport, Ludo, Beach Soccer, Lacrosse, woodball, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Gymnastics as well as Baseball & Softball.
Cricket, Gymnastics, Baseball & Softball are the three demonstration games.
The USSSA Ball Games 2 are a precursor for the FEASSA Games due in Kakemega, Kenya come next month.
