Despite the long-term ban from the FUFA Disciplinary Panel, Uganda Premier League side BUL has ended the speculation of who will steer them further as the head coach.
The oil manufacturers have confirmed the extension of Abbey Kikomeko as the head coach for the next two years.
The announcement was made via the club’s official website today, Monday, July 14, 2025. The development keeps the gaffer at the Jinja-based side until 2027.
“BUL FC is delighted to announce that head coach Bogere Abbey has signed a new two-year contract,” the statement partly reads.
Kikomeko took over the helm in the 2023/24 campaign, taking over from interim coach Simon Massa.
During his reign, BUL won consecutive FUFA Super 8 trophies in 2023 and 2024. The team also finished second in the 2023/24 season, just one point behind the eventual champions.
Shortly after signing on the dotted line, Bogere promised to fulfil his dream of winning the Uganda Premier League title.
“I am excited to be signing another two-year contract with BUL FC. I promise to continue working hard to fulfill his dream of winning the Uganda Premier League for this great club,” he noted.
After finishing third in the previous UPL campaign, Bogere and his team will need to work hard to win their first league title.

Good update please, I being a native fan growing up watching this football club. I am confident we can get together with Abbey for the next two years. Thank you
