Uganda Premier League (UPL) side Gaddafi Football Club has appointed Abdallah Mubiru as the head coach.

The exciting development has been confirmed on Gaddafi’s official website today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Mubiru joins the Entebbe-based side on a two-year employment contract.

He returns to the technical bench after being sacked by KCCA in the previous campaign. He takes over from Robert Mukasa, who guided the team in the top tier.

“We are honoured to resume our UPL chapter under the guidance of Abdallah Mubiru – an accomplished and visionary football mind,” the statement partly reads.

The appointment of Mubiru comes at a defining moment after Gaddafi made a return to the top tier of Uganda’s football hierarchy.

The gaffer has previously been at the helm of clubs such as KCCA FC, Police FC, Vipers SC and Mbeya City in Tanzania.
