Victoria University secured a 65-52 victory against City Oilers in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court on Wednesday.
Fayed Baale made two long shots beyond the arc as the two sides tied 14-14 at the end of the opening period.
Rogers John Baptist Dauna made a layup at the end of the second quarter as City Oilers took a three-point (32-29) lead going into the halftime break.
Coming from the long break, Victoria Crocs improved their defence as punished the Oilers on the first break to create an 11-point.
Joseph Chuma’s long shot concluded the game as the Oilers trailed by 13 points at the end of the game.
Chuol Nyuot had a massive performance scoring 25 points and making 15 rebounds in a double-double for the well-motivated Victoria Crocs. Cedric Alema also contributed 16 points in double digits.
Edgar Munaba (12 points) and Fayed Baale (10 points) led the City Oilers’ scoring board in the double digits.
The Oilers will return to the court on Friday, July 18, 2025, as they take on rivals Namuwongo Blazers at Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala.
