Nicholas Natuhereza, Gazelles head coach, is impressed with Mya Wasswa’s addition to the camp as the team prepares for the upcoming FIBA Women’s Afrobasket.
Wasswa joined the team’s camp in Alexandria last week, and she has had several sessions with her teammates, thus impressing the gaffer.
“Mya (Wasswa) looks good and in shape to play,” Natuhereza confidently said.
“Obviously, with two sessions, she will need some time to catch up with all the things we have done so far, but so far so good,” he added.
Claire Lamunu has joined the team as they await Paige Robinson to complete the camp before connecting to Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Wasswa will make her debut at AfroBasket as she has never been part of the national team before.
Uganda finished seventh in Kigali, Rwanda, during the previous AfroBasket edition and will be looking to improve its rankings this time around.
Uganda was drawn in pool C, where they will lock horns with Senegal and Guinea in the group stages.
