Vipers Sports Club head coach Ivan Minnaert addressed his players as the team commenced pre-season activities at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Speaking to the players and staff, the Belgian gaffer called for healthy communication and discipline so that they can achieve and excel as a team.

“If you have any problem or issue, make it known to the coaches instead of holding back,” the gaffer stated.

“I want to see everyone with a good attitude. So we should work hard to perform. Its difficult to work as a team if we are not on the same page. Having smooth communication is easiest and best way of relating,” he added.

In the same breath, Minnaert called for discipline, noting that it’s very important in the project that is being built.

“Discipline is very important. You have to always be on time because by not being on time you disrespect the coaches and the whole group at large,” he said.

“It’s the same with not training because while others are giving everything, you will be disrespecting them and hindering their success.”

Vipers managed to win both the Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cup, so they will be representing the nation at the continental stage.

Minnaert and his troops will have an assignment to ensure that the team makes it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
