Rwanda lost their second game in as many games played in the ongoing Women’s AfroBasket tournament.
Rwanda suffered a 55-72 loss to Mozambique in an entertaining encounter played at Palais des Sports Arena on Sunday.
Stefania Chiziane’s long jump shot beyond the arc opened a seven-point (22-15) lead at the end of the opening period.
Raquel Simbine made a long shot as Mozambique extended their lead to 11 points (42-31) before going into the halftime break.
Coming from the locker rooms, Rwanda improved on their defence setup, but Mozambique held onto a seven-point (55-48) lead at the end of the period.
Rwanda was limited to only seven points in the final quarter as Mozambique secured a 17-point victory.
Carla Covane (15 points), Leia Dongue (14 points) and Ingid Mucauro (11 points) led Mozambique in double digits.
On the other hand, only Promise Destiney reached double digits after dropping 15 points.
