Mozambique secured a dominant 91-38 victory against Guinea in the Women’s Afrobasket encounter on Wednesday.
After failing to get a straight ticket to the quarterfinals, Mozambique ran over Guinea to secure a ticket in the last eight.
In the quarterfinals, Mozambique will face Group A leaders, Mali, in an eagerly awaited match.
Pinto Chanaya’s long effort beyond the arc concluded the period as Mozambique opened an 18-point (27-9) lead at the end of the first quarter.

Pedro Francisco’s 3-point jumpshot extended Mozambique’s lead to 30 points (50-20) going into the halftime break.
Coming from the locker rooms, Mozambique kept the foot on the gas pedal, rallying to a 48-point (78-30) lead at the end of the third quarter.
Guinea were limited to only eight points in the final quarter as Mozambique ran away with a 53-point victory.

Leia Dongue (17 points), Chanaya (15 points), Stefania Chiziane (11 points), and Pedro Francisco (11 points) led Mozambique’s scoring chart.
Only Masseny Kaba (11 points) managed to score in double digits for Guinea.
