Uganda's opening match will come on Monday, 4th August 2025 against Algeria at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole (8 pm).
Football legends Denis Onyango (Uganda), Victor Wanyama (Kenya) and Mrisho Ngasa (Tanzania) unveiled the new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), PAMOJA 2024.
Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) picked three of the continent’s most celebrated football icons.
The announcement comes ahead of the tournament’s much-anticipated kick-off, with the TotalEnergies CAF CHAN, PAMOJA 2024 set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 02–30 August 2025.



The three legends lent their presence and prestige to a special video released to mark the occasion, underscoring the significance of the new trophy and its alignment with the values of African football.

The video and photo shoot took place beside Africa’s largest freshwater body, Lake Victoria.
Lake Victoria is shared by all three East African countries: Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
For the first time in the history of this competition, three countries will co-host the event.
The official opening match will be between Tanzania and Burkina Faso at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 2nd August 2025 (8 pm).
