Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has made a bold pledge to the Uganda Cranes, pledging a winning bonus of 1.2 billion per match.

The announcement was confirmed by FUFA via their social media platforms today, Monday, April 8, 2025.

“The President has announced a massive winning bonus of 1.2 billion shillings per match for the team at CHAN 2024,” the statement partly read.

The pledge was announced to the players by FUFA President Moses Hassim Magogo at the national team camp located at FUFA Hotel.

Uganda will face Algeria today in a highly anticipated match that kicks off at 8:00 PM at Namboole Stadium.

The tournament opener featured Tanzania defeating Burkina Faso 2-0, while Kenya triumphed 1-0 over the Democratic Republic of Congo; Uganda will kick off its campaign against Algeria
