Angola scored a late winner to beat Zambia 2-1 in an exciting encounter at the Nyayo stadium in the ongoing TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship.
Coming into the game with no victory after defeat against Morocco and draw with co-hosts Kenya, Angola found themselves a goal down when Dominic Chanda gave the Zambians a lead in the 73rd minute.
They did equalise six minutes later through Kaporal and the forward won the game with another strike three minutes to the mandatory ninety.
They held on till the final whistle to move second in group A with 4 points, three behind leaders Kenya who saw off Morocco in the first game despite being 45 minutes with a man less.
Angola now face DR Congo in what could be a decisive showdown for qualification in their last game while Zambia’s next task is no easier — a clash against in-form hosts Kenya, who are yet to lose in the tournament.
