The motto of The Olive School Namugongo is well spelt out in Latin; “Solus Enim Deus” translated as “For God Alone”.

Such is the basis upon which a world class day care, kindergarten and primary school only established in 2024 is dwelt.

Faith centered and holistic, The Olive School Namugongo offers quality education from experienced teaching staff, modern classrooms, character formation and extensive play areas to allow a wholestic development of a pupil.

It is upon this rich background that the school hosted a vibrant sports day at its sprawling grounds on Saturday, 9th August 2025.

This sports day was held in partnership with Curre Sport, unifying pupils along with their families, teachers, well-wishers and distinguished guests including Olympian Shadir Musa Bwogi, in a celebration of athletic prowess and the school spirit.

Pupils showcased immense talent and teamwork as they executed with perfection in the different activities as relays, sprints, hula hoop races, long jump, tug-of-war, bicycle challenges, water bottle filling competitions, running on the crates, ring races, sack races and a number of ball games for the learners to shine, grow, enjoy and play competitively.

The day began with an exhilarating cross-country race, setting an energetic tone.

The pupils dashed through a scenic course, with Lumumba House taking an early lead, cheered by spectators lining the route.

The opening event highlighted endurance and determination, qualities echoed throughout the day’s activities.

Each house, adorned in vibrant colors, brought unique strengths: Mandela shone in track events, Sankara dominated field competitions, while Nkurumah, Samora, and Lumumba displayed remarkable teamwork.

Olympian Bwogi, a beacon of inspiration, graced the event with a heartfelt address, encouraging students to embrace sports as a path to discipline and resilience.

His presence electrified the atmosphere, motivating young athletes to push their limits.

Curre Sport’s partnership ensured seamless organization, providing professional equipment and coaching that elevated the experience.

Today’s event reflects our commitment to holistic education, fostering not just academic excellence but physical vitality and unity. I’m proud of every student’s effort and spirit.

The day culminated in a thrilling finale as Nkurumah House emerged victorious after a tight points race, celebrated with cheers and a trophy presentation by Bwogi.

The event, blending competition with camaraderie, left lasting memories, reinforcing The Olive School Namugongo’s legacy as a nurturing ground for future leaders.
