FEASSA Games 2025
Kakamega city, Kenya (12th to 23rd August)
Uganda’s delegation to the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Associations (FEASSA) Games 2025 in Kakamega, Kenya was officially flagged off at the Lugogo Indoor Arena and National Hockey stadium in Kampala.
National Council of Sports (NCS) General Secretary Dr. Bernard Patrick Ogwel was chief guest at this flag off graced by the different schools.

Dr. Ogwel urged the teams to represent to the best of their abilities in a bid to flag Uganda’s flag aloft.
“I salute the schools that have prepared the different teams. I urge the players to give their best. As Government, we remain committed to supporting these games” Dr. Ogwel submitted in his remarks.

Uganda’s delegation has a total of 1,582 athletes from 66 secondary schools and 11 primary schools, including three Special Needs Education Schools (SNES). These schools will field a total of 124 teams across 22 disciplines.
The perennial games as football, netball, volleyball, handball, basketball (3×3 and 5X5), athletics, hockey, rugby (7’s and 15’s), Table Tennis, Tennis, Badminton will be joined by beach volleyball, chess and scrabble as debutants.
Lacrosse, beach soccer, cricket and DanceSport are for demonstration.

FEASSA-cum-USSSA president Justus Mugisha retaliated the essence of mass-sport in development of the sports sub-sector in the East African region.
“We remain committed to the development of mass-sport” Mugisha noted. “The FEASSA Games are now the largest on the African continent. Kenya has 1800 compared to Uganda’s 1600” he spoke.

Kakamega city in Western Kenya will host the schools from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ivory Coast between 12th to 22nd August 2025.
