The sports disciplines at the 2025 FEASSA Games include beach volleyball, netball, soccer, volleyball, handball, basketball, rugby, hockey, athletics, table tennis, badminton, tennis, swimming, goalball (SNE games), chess, scrabble, beach soccer, lacrosse, DanceSport and cricket.

It has been history in the making as Beach Volleyball made a majestic entry to the FEASSA Games during the 22nd edition in Kakamega County, Western Kenya.

A number of schools registered teams for this unique sport played on sand, by a set of two players apiece.

In some of the games played on Sunday, 17th August 2025, Uganda’s ambassadors, Hilton High School Mukono, Bukedea Comprehensive and Rushoroza High School commenced with victories in the boys’ docket.

Hilton High School Mukono won two games over Kenyan opposition; Langata High School and A.C Butonge High School (Kenya), recording 2-1 and 2-0 scores respectively.

Godwin Seth Wamini and Denis Rubangakene combined forces to inspire Hilton High School Mukono to these victories.

“We enjoyed the right team chemistry and the coordination reaped the results,” Rubangakene remarked.

Abdul Hakim Kamanyiire and Francis Odongkara are the other two team members, that also has Johnson Kawenyera as head coach and Ronald Mukama (games teacher).

Bukedea Comprehensive School also won 2-0 over A.C Butonge (Kenya).

Another Ugandan entity, Rushoroza High School, recorded a win and a loss; overcoming hosts Kakamega High School 2-0 before falling 2-1 to Kenya’s Langata Boys High School.

Lycee Tech from Burundi triumphed 2-0 over Tanzania’s Tumbi S.S.

Girls:

For the girls, Bukedea Comprehensive School lost to another Ugandan side, Seroma Christian High School 2-0.

Mwambeyo High School from Kenya registered a 2-0 victory over another Kenyan school, Kameji High School.

The group stage matches continue on Monday, 18th August 2025 with different games.

Lacrosse, beach volleyball, cricket and DanceSport are all making their debut at the games.

Uganda is the overall defending champion.
