Lacrosse action at 2025 FEASSA Games at Kakamega High School

Overview:

Uganda Lacrosse Association (ULA) Liberty Twesime is impressed about the swift development of Lacrosse sport and the addition to the FEASSA family.

The 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Association (FEASSA) Games are currently on-going in Kakamega county, Western Kenya.

Lacrosse made a grand entry to the menu of games being played and has been wholesomely being embraced by the fraternity.

At Kakamega High School sports ground, it is basically survival for the fittest with stiff competition between Uganda and Kenyan schools, the only countries represented in the sport.

In some of the girls’ duels, Uganda’s Nabisunsa Girls humbled Reuben SS from Kenya 11-4 for their second victory in the campaign following a comprehensive 15-7 win against another Kenyan school, Moi Girls Eldoret.

Two Ugandan schools have fallen so far in the girl’s gender.

Bombo Army SS and Muzza High School fell to St Charles Kalaba and St Joseph Girls, Kitale 10-7 and 16-12 respectively.

Boys:

The physicality and stiff competition has been envisaged among the boys.

Bombo Army SS overcame Musingu High School (Kenya) 11-6 in a very fast paced contest on Saturday.

Uganda’s Empower International Academy was a no-match for Kenya’s Mumias Muslim with a 14-1 humilitation.

This was Empower International Academy’s second win after the 9-3 victory over St Peter’s Mumias.

In a narrow 9-8 victory, Uganda’s St Peter’s College Tororo edged St. Joseph’s Boys, Kitale for a brave start.

Twesiime is impressed about the swift development of Lacrosse sport and the addition to the FEASSA family.

“I am extremely overwhelmed seeing Lacrosse played at the FEASSA Games. This is steady progress for the sport and definitely, there are better times ahead. We are reaching out to Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi to join us as well more schools from Uganda and Kenya to start playing Lacrosse” Twesiime disclosed to Kawowo Sports.
