St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde Boys Basketball Team registered their first victory at the 22nd edition of the East African Secondary School Games in Kakamega county in Western Kenya.

Recovering from a 5-point defeat to Kenya’s Lukenya High School on Thursday, St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde condemned fellow Ugandan side, Kibuli S.S 68-38 played at Kakamega High School courts.

“It is good to bounce back with a victory. We remain focused until the rest of the championship,” Malcom Omondi, captain of St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde remarked.

Another Ugandan school, Amus College triumphed 75-36 over Tanzanian side Lumala S.S.

Meanwhile, Seeta High School fell 79-42 to Rwanda’s ITS Kigali.

Girls:

It was double agony for Kibuli S.S who lost 36-59 to St Noa Girls Zana.

St Noa Girls Zana had also rallied to overpower Kenya’s Kaya Tiwi 68-55.

St Joseph (Kenya) out-muscled Tanzania’s Juhudi 64-37 whilst another Kenyan school, Butere S.S humbled Orkeeswa from Tanzania 61-42.

Action continues on Sunday afternoon through the rest of the week.

Besides the 5×5 version, there is also the faster 3×3 cluster played at the Police Canteen courts in Kakamega town.
