By joining the AFRIYEA Global Mentorship Program, Robbie becomes the 34th mentor to support this impactful initiative, which connects youth from Uganda with seasoned professionals from around the world.
Canadian PGA Professional Robbie Johnson is the latest golf expert to join a growing global movement that’s transforming lives through the sport.
The highly respected coach from Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course in Alberta, Canada, has officially become a mentor with the AFRIYEA Golf Academy, lending his experience and passion to support young golfers in Uganda and other emerging golf nations.
His addition marks another exciting step in the Academy’s mission to use golf as a powerful tool for education, personal growth, and opportunity.
Robbie brings with him an impressive background in both playing and coaching.
A former collegiate golfer in the United States, he competed at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) and later at Campbellsville University, where he developed a strong foundation in competitive golf and leadership.
Now a certified PGA of Canada professional, Robbie continues to share his love for the game at one of Canada’s most iconic courses.

By joining the AFRIYEA Global Mentorship Program, Robbie becomes the 34th mentor to support this impactful initiative, which connects youth from Uganda with seasoned professionals from around the world.
The program now includes mentors from 11 different countries, each contributing unique perspectives, guidance, and encouragement to the next generation of golfers in Africa.
Robbie follows the most recent addition to the program, Marcella Marais of Ireland, who joined in July.
Their involvement highlights the growing international support behind AFRIYEA’s mission to expand access to golf and mentorship in regions where the sport is still developing.
This past Sunday, Robbie held his first mentorship session with his assigned mentee an aspiring young golfer from Uganda virtually.
The session was filled with enthusiasm, as the two discussed game strategy, personal development, and long-term goals.
Robbie’s advice focused on course management, mental preparation, and building a structured approach to training and competition.
The AFRIYEA Golf Academy, based in Fort Portal, Uganda, has quickly earned recognition as a driving force behind youth development through golf in East Africa.
Its mentorship program plays a crucial role in this mission by offering young players access to global mentors who inspire, educate, and guide them both on and off the course.
With professionals like Robbie Johnson joining the team, AFRIYEA continues to build a bridge between continents uniting the global golf community in support of a common goal: growing the game and empowering the next generation.
