Vipers SC have secured a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Rwandan Gorilla FC in a practice game at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.
Uganda Premier League side, Vipers tried their new guns in a friendly game against Gorilla in front of a small crowd.
Milton Karisa, Abubakali Walusimbi and Gusto Mulongo were on the scoresheet for the hosts while Moise pulled back one for Gorilla.
It was Ivan Jack Minnaert’s first game in charge of Vipers. The Serbian gaffer made a few changes including playing a back three of Enock Luyima, Dasy Bady, and Patrick Mbowa.
Karisa broke the deadlock with a powerful header guiding Derrick Ndahiro’s inch-perfect delivery after 11 minutes of end-to-end action.
At the start of the second half, Jack Komakech, Isaac Ogwang and Walusimbi came on for Alfred Mudekereza, Mark Yallah and Odili Chukwuma.
Four minutes into the second period Walusimbi doubled Vipers’ lead with a powerful effort straight from the corner kick point.
Moise pulled back one for the visitors before Mulongo finished off a brilliant team move with five minutes to the full time.
The two sides will meet again on Thursday in a closed-door friendly.
