Uganda Cranes players and technical staff have not only brought joy to their fans but also secured a significant financial reward for their performance in CHAN 2024.

In the four group games played, Uganda Cranes secured two wins, one draw and a loss. This has led to a financial appreciation from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

The financial breakdown was revealed by Team Manager, Paul Mukatabala, during an appearance on the NTV Omumuli.

​According to Mukatabala, each player and technical staff member receives a daily allowance of $100 while in camp, starting from July 29 until the team’s exit from the tournament.

In addition to this, each member is eligible for a range of performance-based bonuses as outlined below;

  • $100 (UGX 356,490) per day in camp.
  • $2,000 (UGX 7,129,798) for a win.
  • ​$1,000 (UGX 3,564,899) for a useful draw.
  • ​$4,000 (UGX 14,259,596) for qualifying for the quarterfinals.
  • ​$5,000 (UGX 17,824,495) for qualifying for the semifinals.
  • ​$10,000 (UGX 35,648,990) for winning the trophy.

​Mukatabala confirmed that the team has already been paid for their two group stage victories as well as their daily allowances for the first 21 days of the camp.

The team’s next challenge is a quarterfinal match against reigning champions Senegal, scheduled for Saturday, August 23, at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole at 5:00 p.m.
