Record netball champions St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende have successfully defended the gold medal in Netball at the FEASSA Games held in Kakamega county, Western Kenya.
St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende outmuscled another Ugandan school, Buddo S.S 46-30 in the final played at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology on Thursday, 21st August 2025.

Right from the throw off of the well contested game, St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende seemed to be a team on mission possible with a 6 goal lead by the close of the opening quarter which ended 12-6.
The lead stretched by the half time break by a goal to 21-14.


By the third quarter, the writing was well spelt on the wall that St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende was destined for a killer with a 10 goal margin; leading 31-21.
This was stamped after the final whistle with a 46-30 victory; winning by a margin of 16 goals.
Aisha Nakuya of St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende was named the most valuable player of the tournament

Nourdine Kato, head coach for the victorious school attributed the triumph to good planning and collective display.
“I am excited for this win” Kato who side lost to the same Buddo team at this year’s nationals in Tororo remarked.
“It was down to good planning and all the players played their hearts out as a complete unit” he added.
This is the 20th unprecedented netball trophy for St Mary’s Kitende in the FEASSA Games.

In the bronze medal match played earlier, St Noa Girls School Zana overcame another Ugandan opposition Hamdan Islamic School 56-44.
During the semi-finals played on Wednesday, St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende defeated St Noa Girls Zana 59-32 whilst Buddo SS were 46-38 winners over Hamdan Islamic School.
The 22nd FEASSA Games will climax officially on Friday, 22nd August 2025.
