Morocco advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, co-hosted in East Africa by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
A 1-0 victory over Tanzania at the Benjamin Mpaka National Stadium, Dar es Salaam, enabled the Atlas Lions to secure the last four slot.
Berkane Football Club forward Oussama Lamlioui scored the all-important goal of the flood-lit game.
Raja Casablanca midfielder Youssef Belammari provided the assist for Oussama in the 65th minute.
Morocco now awaits the winner between Uganda and Senegal at the semifinal level.
Uganda will host Senegal in the third quarterfinal on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Meanwhile, Madagascar eliminated another co-host Kenya 4-3 during post-match penalties in the first quarterfinals played at the Moi International Sports Centre, Nairobi city.
After 120 minutes of football with the scores tied 1-all, the contest was determined by a penalty shoot-out.
In normal time, Gor Mahia defender Alphonce Omija put Kenya in the lead three minutes into the second half.
Fenohasina Razafimaro brought the game level as the Elgeco Plus midfielder struck a penalty in the 71st minute.
During the tense penalty shoot-out, Madagascar won 4-3 to storm the semi-finals.
Nantenaina Randriamanampisoa, Lalaina Cliver Rafanomezantsoa, Fenohasina Razafimaro and Toky Rakotondraibe scored for Madagascar. Only Heriniaina Randrianirina missed his kick.
For Kenya, Mohammed Siraj, Daniel Sakari and Sylvester Owino netted while Michael Kibwage and Alphonce Omija missed their respective kicks to the agony of the co-hosts.
Madagascar will now face either Sudan or Algeria in the semifinal.
