Ntare School defeated defending champions Jinja SS by five wickets in a standout performance on Matchday 2 of the Boys’ Schools Cricket Week.
Jinja SS was surprised by the performance of their western counterparts in a low-scoring match.
Record winners Busoga College Mwiri had to bring their A game against the hosts Nyakasura School and they did just enough to make sure Nyakasura couldn’t find 148 runs. A morale-boosting performance for Mwiri who take charge of Group B in their push for a semifinals slot.
St John’s Mukono recovered from their opening day loss against Nyakasura to put in a great shift that allowed them to beat Group B rivals Aga Khan by wickets and keep them in the hunt for a semifinal place.
Shree Sahajand continue to lead in Group A after picking up their third win of the tournament, defeating Gulu High School by 78 runs.
Gulu High picked up their first win of the tournament with a six-wicket win over Masaka SS, the latter was able to regroup and pick their second win of the tournament against Kiira College Butiki.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semifinals of the annual boys event.
