Uganda Golf Union (UGU) sent a strong team of youngsters for the 2025 Africa Region IV Junior Team Championship which drives off at the Tamarian Golf and Spa resort in Mauritius.
Teenagers Kariisa Shaka Ndyabahika, Banza Matsiko Gershom, Elizabeth Danelle Dlexik Kawalya and Keisha Wiltshire Kagoro are the players on the team under Flavia Namakula as head coach.

Round one of this championship teed off on Tuesday, 26th August 2025 and go through the subsequent day and climax on Thursday, 28th August 2025 for a total of 54 holes.
Kariisa, with a handicap index of +2.3, played alongside Ramadhani Yasin Mohamed (Tanzania) and Mattee Rakotofiringa from Madagascar at 8:30 am.
6.6 handicap indexed Matsiko was pooled alongside Tanzania’s Ibrahim Juma Lukuli and Romain Fitahiana.
Kawalya (handicap index 10.9) played with the duo of Navya Dipak Nagda (Kenya) and Melliyal Schmitt from Reunion.
Kagoro, with a handicap index 1.8 played from Kanana Chepkurui Muthomi (Kenya) and Odin Ophelie (Reunion).

The hosts, Mauritius, are joined by Reunion, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda at the championship.
Each team shall consist of four players (2 boys and 2 girls).
For team scoring, the best three gross scores out of four will count forward the team’s score each day.


The team with the lowest cumulative total over the three rounds will be declared as the team champion.
There is also a prize for the best individual score (girl and boy).
The official flag-raising ceremony was held on Monday, 25th August 2025.
