The inaugural CAF Impact strategic round table workshop was graced by all the 54 Africa member associations with the presidents and general secretaries attending.

On the sideline of Championship of African Nations (CHAN) 2024 tournament at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Uganda, the CAF Impact strategic round table workshop was held; the first of its kind with the presidents for the 54 member associations and general secretaries attending. This is the first time that the leaders of the African football come together to discuss and bring forward the new development program under Dr Patrice Motsepe, the CAF impact program.

The CAF Impact program is one development program to re-advance African football to make it competitive and self sustaining.
This is the best the best opportunity for us to implement the CAF Impact program on the good governance, transparency and good accountability. We discussed the CAF Impact program revelations and on how the funding given to the Member Associations ought to be utilized in a more responsible and transparent way.

Key focus areas:
The CAF Impact program is meant to prioritize the good governance of member associations working hand-in-hand with CAF. This workshop therefore was to teach the federations to understand what the program is all about
It is also to strengthen the collaboration between CAF and the 54 member associations and further enforce commitment under the leadership of CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe to support and have an impact in all the 54 member associations of CAF.
Increased funding:
CAF has had a positive trajectory as regards the increasing trend of funding for the different projects for instance the $250,000 to $400,000 increment for member associations, the increase of funding for the zones from $500,000 to $750,000, the increased participation fee for clubs from $50,000 to $100,000.
A lot more emphasis has also been given to women football, youth football, school football, capacity building platforms and many non-financial support to stakeholders, among others.
