Busoga College Mwiri and St John’s High School Kauga remain the only unbeaten sides after Matchday 4 of the Boys Schools Cricket Week in Fort Portal.
Busoga College Mwiri put newcomers Masindi SS to the sword with their second 200+ score of the tournament. Daniel Muhumuza (90) plundered 12 sixes and two boundaries for the record champions en route to their 233/6 in 20 overs. Eric Mukisa (4/19) ensured the victory with the ball in hand as Mwiri notched up their fifth victory of the tournament and remain patched on top of Group B.
In the same St. John’s SS Mukono picked up two wins against St. James and St. Joseph’s College Layibi to move into second place as they battle for the final semifinal spot in Group B.
Ntare School was the biggest winner of the day, with two wins against Shree Sahajanand and Masaka SS. Shree has been leading Group A for the first three game days, and a loss against Ntare School will hurt their chances of qualifying for the semifinal places. St John’s High School, Kauga, overcame Masaka SS to move into the top spot ahead of Shree in Group A.
The struggles for King’s College Budo continue, and together with Rwenzori High School are the only sides yet to pick up a victory in the tournament.
The tournament is entering its business end with the top two sides in each group qualifying for the semifinals.
