Day 5 Results: Boys Schools Cricket Week 2025.

Busoga College Mwiri secured top spot in Group B with two clinical wins against King’s College Budo and St John’s Secondary School.
The record winners are chasing a 20th Schools Cricket Week title, and so far, apart from their opening game win against St Joseph’s College Layibi, none of the rest of the opposition has been able to shake them.
In the same group, the second spot is up for grabs with three teams, Nyakasura School, Masindi SS and St John’s Mukono, tied on the same number of points but only separated by the number of games. Nyakasura has only played five games compared to Masindi who has played six and St John’s who has played seven.
The hosts, Nyakasura, hold a slight advantage and will be hoping to make the knockouts of their own tournament.
In Group A, St John’s High School Kauga remains unbeaten and should be able to clinch top spot when the final group games end today. St John’s brushed aside close competition in Shree Sahajanad School by nine runs to ensure to keep top spot. Shree was the early pace setter in Group A but the losses have allowed the rest of the competition to creep up on them with Ntare School and Jinja SS tied on the same number of points.
Ntare School continue to impress and their form has pushed them into a four-way tie for second place in Group A. Their advantage is having played a game less than both Jinja SS and Shree Sahajanand who are ahead of them, and if they win both games, they could clinch second place in Group A. The wins against Rwenzori High and St James gave them upward progress in their quest for a semifinal place.
Defending Champions Jinja SS has dropped two games but remains in the hunt for a semifinal place with wins against Masaka SS and Kira College Butiki pushing them into second place. If they are able to hold onto second place, they will set up a Jinja derby in the semifinals against Busoga College Mwiri, a repeat of the final last year.
Kings College Budo and Rwenzori High remain the only teams yet to win a game in the annual schools tournament.
The group games will conclude today with the finals scheduled for Saturday.
