- Tournament: ICC Div. 1 Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier
- Host Nation: Namibia
- Group B: Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda
- Date: 29 August – 7 September, 2025
The Victoria Pearls head to Namibia seeking a third Global World Cup Qualifiers showpiece appearance if they can get out a Group B, which is full of East African enemies.
Uganda will compete against Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda, with the top two sides in the group moving to the semifinals, and the two finalists earning a slot to the Global Qualifiers in Nepal next year.
Janet Mbabazi will lead the side in her first major assignment since she took the reins of the team a year ago. Naume Amogin is the only debutant on the team that features a lot of experience.
Malisa Ariokot and Irene Mutonyi provide the exuberance of youth, while Vice Captain Rita Musamali, Immaculate Nakisuyi and Stephanie Nampiina will be the go-to players for runs. Consy Aweko will be asked to dry up the runs with ball in hand.
The technical team is led by Deus Muhumuza, and like his predecessors, he will be judged on the performance of the unit.
Malisa Ariokot and Irene Mutonyi are now on school holiday and available to play. We wanted
them to balance school and cricket, because they also need the formal career. Naume Jane Amongin has been consistently performing well in her bowling all-rounder role. These three players all bring in their experience in contrasting style, skill, and fresh energy. We’re excited about how they will bolster the squad with their contributions. As a team we have been training hard, fine-tuning our skills, game awareness and building team cohesion. Our goal is to qualify for the Global Qualifiers.
We’ll focus on executing our plans and capitalizing on our strengths.
Deus Muhumuza, Head Coach – Victoria Pearls
