Shree Sahajanand denied Ntare School a semifinal slot, edging out the western team by the barest of margins on Net Run Rate.
Both teams finished on the same number of points but were only separated by Net Run Rate, with the impressive Ntare School missing out.
Shree earned a date with record winners Busoga College Mwiri, who were table leaders in Group B.
Busoga College Mwiri is chasing a 20th Schools Cricket championship and if they can make it past Shree, they will be playing their second consecutive final. Mwiri is still unbeaten in the tournament and hasn’t dropped a game.
St John’s High Kauga clinched top spot in Group A and takes their unbeaten record to the semifinals, where they will face off with hosts Nyakasura School.
Nyakasura has appeared consistently in the knockouts for the last two years and they would be hoping to make the home advantage count.
Defending Champions Jinja SS lost their advantage on the final day of the group games, finishing a distant fourth, which means that after two years, we shall have a new champion. If the trend can continue, it will mean hosts Nyakasura has the advantage of fate because Jinja SS won it twice as hosts.
The winners of the semifinals will meet in the Final tomorrow afternoon at Nyakasura ground.
