  • UCU Canons 58 – 73 Nam Blazers

The Namuwongo Blazers took a commanding 2-0 lead in the National Basketball League semifinal series after winning game two against the UCU Canons with a score of 73-58 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.

The Blazers came into this match with confidence, having secured a victory in game one (68-60) and recently receiving confirmation to represent Uganda in the Road to BAL 2026.

Innocent Ochera capped the first quarter with a three-point jump shot, allowing the Blazers to establish an impressive 15-point lead of 28-13.

However, the Canons limited the Blazers’ scoring to just seven points in the second quarter, narrowing their deficit to four points at halftime, with the score standing at 31-35.

After the break, the Canons continued to fight hard and finished the third quarter trailing by only three points, 55-52.

But in the final quarter, the Blazers pulled away dramatically, securing a 15-point victory with a strong performance.

Joel Lukoji (24 points), James Okello (17 points) and Arthur Wanyoto (14 points) led the Blazers’ scoreboard chart in double digits.

Only Jimmy Otim (12 points) and Ekirapa Zachariah (11 points) scored in double digits for the Canons.
