City Oilers have taken one step into the finals after winning the third game in the National Basketball League best-of-five semifinal series.

The Oilers secured a well-deserved 79-63 victory against Sommet Basketball Club in Game 3 of the NBL Playoffs at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Sunday.

John Focus Teko converted one of the two throws to conclude the first period as Sommet opened a two-point (22-20) lead to set a great tone for the game.

Sommet kept the foot on the gas pedal as they took a four-point (42-38) lead into the halftime break.

Coming from the locker rooms, Sommet held onto a five-point (59-54) lead going into the highly anticipated final quarter.

It was a one-way traffic affair after City Oilers went for a 22-0 run before bagging a sweet 16-point victory.

Jordan Chad Bowie (19 points), Kurt Curry Wegscheider (19 points) and Mer Maker (14 points) led the City Oilers’ chart in double digits.

On the other side, Nyembo Fataki (19 points), Kasereka Tembo (16 points) and Peter Cheng (11 points) scored in double digits for Sommet.
