Edgar Luzige is the head coach of FUFA Big League entity Iganga United Football Club.
The CAF “C” coaching diploma coach makes a return to the club where he once served during the third division days.
He will work with experienced coach Abu Samadu Musafiri.
“I am glad to be back at Iganga United Football Club. This is family to me and ready for the best display throughout the season” Luzige remarked.

Of late, Luzige has been coaching Western region side Bwizibwera United Football Club in Mbarara city.
For starters, Luzige commenced his football playing career at Jinja based Nbs football club as an amateur player.He swiftly graduated to the Uganda Premier League featuring for a number of clubs as Iganga Town Council, Victors, Express, Vipers, BUL, Sports Club Villa and lately Buganda regional side Kajjansi United, where he retired from.
He also ventured the murky professional waters in Zambia, featuring for Nkwanzi Stars.
Key stand out moments as a player entail winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy with Victors in 2010 and the treasured Uganda Premier League trophy with Express in 2012.
His coaching passion stems from the early days at BUL Football Club where he embarked on the FUFA beginners’ course conducted in Gulu city.
He has since coached at Sports Club Villa and Busoga United Junior Teams in the FUFA Juniors’ league, Kajjansi United and lately Iganga United where he earned an unprecedented run of 26 games in 27 engagements.
While at Kajjansi United, he is best remembered for master-minding elimination of Vipers from the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Luzige is known for his organizational abilities on and off the field of play, planning, game reading antics, awesome player management skills and odd skills to approach different match situations.
